Miyawaki Tiny Forest & Bioswale at
Peninsula Shores Elementary School, Wiarton
Stewardship Grey Bruce applied for funding from Lake Huron Forever on behalf of the Sustainability Project. This funding application was designed to support the Sustainability Project's Schoolyard Stormwater Bioswale. The project has establish an educational raingarden & bioswale, alongside tree planting as part of the Miyawaki Tiny Forest at Peninsula Shores District School in Wiarton. Students have been involved in the bioswale design and selection of appropriate native plants. As a result of this project they have a living habitat where they can talk about stormwater management immediately beside the school.
Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association
Stewardship Grey Bruce assisted the Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association with support and funding.
Markdale Rotary Park
In 2018, in partnership with the Municipality of Grey Highlands, Saugeen Conservation and Trout Unlimited Canada - Happy Trout Chapter, Stewardship Grey Bruce helped to rehabilitate Armstrong Creek at Markdale's Rotary Park.
Livestock Exclusion Fencing on the Upper Sauble
In 2017, Stewardship Grey Bruce helped to fund a livestock exclusion fencing project that took place on the Upper Sauble River in Tara, ON. This project was coordinated by Grey Sauble Conservation Authority and funded by Grey-Bruce ALUS and the Ministry of Environment.
1700 meters of fencing are now in place and 500 trees were planted between the river and the fence.
